DOT & Employment Physicals

As part of our general healthcare services, Primary Care Solutions provides DOT (Department of Transportation) and pre-employment physicals.

The DOT physical exam conducted by Dr. Salman Khan is necessary for prospective commercial drivers to ensure that they are physically able to handle long hours and the stress of operating a commercial vehicle.

Among other things, the physical evaluates a driver’s vision, hearing, and blood pressure. During a vision test, the doctor tests you for at least 20/40 vision in both eyes, as well as your ability to distinguish between various colors with or without prescribed lenses. A hearing test evaluates whether you can hear a “forced whisper” from less than five feet away. A urinalysis is also conducted to determine whether you have any medical condition that requires prompt attention. Your blood pressure and pulse rate are taken to check for any abnormalities that would prevent you from sitting for long periods of time.

In addition, the DOT exam tests for any weight, breathing, vascular, skeletal, reflex, or neurological problems. It may also require or inquire about any needed vaccinations, including those for:
